I slept in a tree house, hand-fed piranhas, set up camp in the middle of the jungle, zip-lined from a Ceiba, cruised the Amazon river, watched the elusive pink dolphin and other native wildlife, and saw my brother sink in quick sand!
But more valuable than all these experiences is the realization I had during this trip.
Ok, enough romanticism for the day. This story has a happy ending! no pun intended. On my last visit to my beloved Medellin; I traveled to several pueblos outside of the city but Jardín definitely stole my heart.
This little girl taught me so much in that moment and since that day, I knew I had to find a way to get involved and give back.
