About me

Hi!

I’m Marcela, my friends call me Marcy. Physical activity keeps me sane and the outdoors make me happy. I was born and raised in the hills of Medellin, Colombia and my father was an outdoors enthusiast. Both me and my brother grew up hiking and exploring mountains on the weekends. There’s nothing I enjoy more than being in the middle of nowhere. I love nature, capturing beauty with my camera, being in unfamiliar places and learning from people from all walks of life. Somehow, that makes it easier for me to be present; to not worry about the past or the future, to forget about labels and to just be myself and enjoy life.

The name Rose Lens Adventures came from often hearing people telling me that I should stop looking at things through rose-colored glasses. But, I am a closet romantic! I have an overly optimistic perception of life and circumstances. I enjoy sharing my thoughts, memories and images of beautiful places in this blog because each journey teaches me something.  When my budget allows it, I travel; when it doesn’t, I can drive 3o minutes and explore incredible places in my backyard, the Florida Everglades!

Anyway, I think the purpose of this is to encourage friends and readers of this blog to make time for the things they enjoy, to try something new and to spend more time in nature.
